South Dakota enacts House Bill 1072 which directs the Department of Social Services to establish the South Dakota long-term care partnership program. This bill would provide an incentive for people to buy long-term care partnership plans. The State claims that this bill will reduces the sole reliance on Medicaid for long-term care and free up money in the Medicaid system.
